Why the practice exists

Codecraftpoint began with a recurring observation: experienced managers who could run a budget, lead a department and negotiate an offer still found a German move fragmented. The contract sat with HR, the residence question with an authority, health insurance with a provider, and registration with the municipality. Each answer could be correct while the order remained unclear.

Our work joins those pieces without pretending to replace the specialists responsible for them. A consultation gives a manager an intelligible sequence, a vocabulary for employer conversations and a clean boundary between ordinary guidance and regulated legal, immigration or tax advice.

Your adviser

Mara Klein, relocation employment adviser, leads every consultation. Her background combines international HR operations, manager onboarding and employee relocation coordination in Munich. She has supported cross-border hires through contract explanation, pre-arrival planning and the first probation review. When a matter falls outside that practical remit, she says so plainly.

How we work

We begin with documents and dates rather than assumptions. A start date, probation clause, temporary address and family arrival can alter the useful order of tasks. We read what you actually received, identify missing facts, and avoid cultural claims that flatten a varied German workplace into a checklist.

Three principles guide the practice:

1. Explain the boundary. General employment guidance is not a lawyer’s opinion, tax filing or an immigration decision.
2. Respect the person behind the role. A partner’s employment, school date or housing gap may matter to a manager’s working start.
3. Leave a usable record. A short ordered note is preferable to a long meeting that depends on memory.

Our office is near München Hauptbahnhof, a fitting point of arrival for a practice concerned with transitions. In-person consultations are available by appointment; online sessions serve managers relocating to workplaces elsewhere in Germany.
